Husband, brother, father, grandad (since passing great grandad). Loved and missed by all, taken far too soon, unexpectedly diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer in Apr’19, passing away May’19. In his younger years, he was a sailing instructor, built his own boat (kept in Dover harbour). In the 80s/90s he would sail his Topper with family along Herne Bay. He would eagerly visit any RNLI station and chat to the volunteers, he himself being a volunteer at Herne Windmill until his sudden decline XxX

My parents lived in Wick a town with a great fishing tradition. As such the lifeboat was a huge part of the community. My parents were lifelong supporters of the lifeboat. Several days after my mums death my dad moved into a care home near to me in Invergordon. His room overlooked the firth where he took a keen interest in the passing boats. Dad passed away in his room following a short illness. It seemed fitting to have my parents name on our new boat. Much loved and never forgotten. Xxx

Donald lost his life in an accident off his ring netting boat, the storm drift in November 1965. The Oban life boat recovered his body for which the family will always be grateful. It's nice to think that his name will be heading off to see once more on a boat that will be saving lives. He will never be forgotten.

Delighted to Launch a Memory for Dad, George Hockaday Mills (1924-2001) RN from the age of 16 until 1956, boy telegraphist survivor of HMS Repulse, serving throughout WWII and then transferred to submarines. Descended from a long line of seafarers and a lifelong RNLI supporter, he would be so proud of his grandson, a volunteer at RNLI Kessock.

Angela and I were married for less than 10 years when she died. Unlike me, she was not a sailor but she was a caring and loving wife, mother and grandmother who understood the importance of the RNLI’s lifesaving work. I know she would be pleased that her name is associated with supporting a vital service that keeps us all safe at sea and will come to our rescue, whatever the weather.

My Dads safe space was the high seas. A postwar Bernardo's baby, life was tough & Dad found family in the Royal Navy signing up at the tender age of 15. All his adult life, being on a boat was my Dads escape ( yes..the unquantified risk of weather & sea was better than the unknown risks from humans). We thank the RNLI for a couple of rescues where in later life Dad would transport private vessels from A to B where they were not able. Unknown engines = fire a few times. We are eternally grateful

My dad was a deep sea trawler man on many ships, the most important ship for him was the Ross Tiger from Grimsby. My dad loved going to sea and he always spoke about it with great passion, he was also washed overboard twice in his career, luckily for us he always returned. My dad died 12/10/2018 and the RNLI at Cleethorpes scattered his ashes at the burcom as my dad's final wish. We as a family have the up most respect for the RNLI, as they treated my dad with the dignity he deserved.

The Original Jonbouy: John’s love of the ocean was immeasurable and he had sailed a few oceans in his time. On one such voyage he came to respect the ocean as he very nearly went overboard at night whilst on a transatlantic trip of a small yacht. A few years later (mid 1990s) he developed the man overboard life saving device, the Jonbuoy. So I am really pleased to know that his name will be on this lifeboat and that his spirit will live on as it rides the waves.

William Bostock

William Bostock was third engineer on board the "Estrellano" which was torpedoed at 04.30am by U boat U37, and sunk off the coast of Spain on the 9th February 1941. Out of 26 crew and 1 gunner, he was one of six who lost their lives, aged 43. He is commemorated in our parish church, war memorial, and also Tower Hill Memorial in London. He left a widow and two daughters, the younger being our Mother. We think he would be proud to have his name included on a new lifeboat.

Robin served in the navy for many years and had a lifelong love of the sea. My uncle bravely joined the navy to defend us but was killed aged only 16 during the World War II evacuation of Crete on board HMS Orion on 29 May 1941. My mother always remembered her younger brother in many ways one of which was supporting the RNLI.

My grandfather, John Swinburne was born in Liverpool in 1877 and joined the Navy at Master at Arms in 1920. During the 2nd world war he joined the Cunard White Star Line and unfortunately died and was buried at sea in 1944 whilst crossing the Atlantic bringing vital supplies to Liverpool.
