David loved the sea and, because his maternal grandfather had been in the Merchant Navy, supporting the RNLI was a family tradition. David didn’t believe in an afterlife but he’d have loved the idea of his name on a lifeboat out at sea saving the lives of others. He was much loved and is greatly missed.
