William Bostock
William Bostock was third engineer on board the "Estrellano" which was torpedoed at 04.30am by U boat U37, and sunk off the coast of Spain on the 9th February 1941. Out of 26 crew and 1 gunner, he was one of six who lost their lives, aged 43.
He is commemorated in our parish church, war memorial, and also Tower Hill Memorial in London. He left a widow and two daughters, the younger being our Mother.
We think he would be proud to have his name included on a new lifeboat.
