My grandfather, John Swinburne was born in Liverpool in 1877 and joined the Navy at Master at Arms in 1920. During the 2nd world war he joined the Cunard White Star Line and unfortunately died and was buried at sea in 1944 whilst crossing the Atlantic bringing vital supplies to Liverpool.
