Jamie Crisp

Jamie was, quite literally, the nicest, kindest person you could ever meet. He was a gentle giant of a man, who cared about everyone he knew. If you met him, you could not help but like him. He was that person. I first met Jamie when he came for a job interview. I knew then he was a special person. He became my little sister Lindsey’s best friend and work husband. Jamie sadly passed away in 2019 from an undiagnosed heart condition and he is missed every day by those who loved him xx

A much loved man with a lifelong love of the sea, Phil’s mooring at Sandy Haven was within sight of Angle lifeboat station .He passed his love of the sea on to his wife Jeanette, children Emma, Nathen , Annah and Kate. In turn he inspired their partners Alan, Alison, Russel and Mark. Now the grandchildren Lucy, Jamie, Jake, Megan, Sam, Molly, Zach, Isaac, Louis and Harri continue to love life on the sea.

My Dad lied about his age and at 15 joined the Merchant Navy during WW2. He survived many trips during the Battle of the Atlantic and subsequently went on to travel the world. He loved his time at sea and would have stayed in the Merchant Navy longer, were it not , for meeting/marrying my Mum and starting a Family. Unfortunately, he passed away in 2003 and his ashes were scattered at sea. I can't think of a better tribute, than knowing his name, will be part of such an amazing new Lifeboat.

Our dad/Grandad always thought so highly of the volunteers at RNLI and would regularly donate & holiday at the college in Poole. He travelled a lot to visit the different stations & support the wonderful work that the RNLI do. After a short battle with cancer he passed away in 2014 & the team at Poole scattered his ashes at sea, near one of his favourite places. A memory we all hold dear. He would be so honoured that this is how he is being remembered.

Mike was never without his RNLI mug or wallet or pen or anything else he could buy to support the RNLI. Although he sadly died before being close to retirement his only specification was when we retire to the North Wales coast we need to be near a lifeboat station so I can volunteer to help in some way. He thought the work the RNLI did was amazing and a source of GB pride. He will have several mentions on the boat as friends and family all knew this would be his wish to honour his memory.

Dad served in the Far East during WW2 before being taken prisoner. After the war he returned to the Far East and had many happy years with the MRNVR and later RNR (Singapore), finishing as Captain of HMS Laburnum/KD Singapura in 1966. Our Grandad Dan who died on the 4th of December 2015 after fighting a courageous battle for months of illness left us hours after his 1st great grandson was born-Cormac Daniel. Our Granddad had a huge heart and loved spending Sundays on the Shannon fishing. Even though he didn’t caught too much he loved being surrounded by sons and grandchildren showing them the tricks to “trying” to catch the fish!! Granddad you and your cheeky smile and jokes are missed every day.

In memory of Albert "Bébert" Simon

Born and raised in Brussels, Albert Simon spent childhood summers with family in Portballintrae on the north Antrim coast, in and on the water in his boat, the "Yogi Bear". He joined the Belgian Merchant Navy in 1968 and sailed the world for 10 years. Settling down to raise his family he never lost his love for the sea, or for Ireland and its rugged coast. We lost our beloved Bébert in September 2012, but now he will be connected once more to the wild Atlantic he loved so much.

I was on the crew at Cleethorpes for 8 years and I used to joke about getting Mum on the boat one day. She wasn’t that keen but there was a pride in what the RNLI do. Now I can have a commemoration not too far from where she grew up and she’ll be looking down shaking her head at how I managed to finally get her onto a lifeboat.

Kenneth William 'Tom' Cobley

Father 'ran away to sea' aged 15 and served in the Royal Navy for 30 years, most notably in WW2 when he was decorated for 'Distinguished Service'. A lifelong supporter of the RNLI he longed to be able to finance a lifeboat so would be chuffed to know that his name will go to sea with the RNLI's marvellous volunteers. He left us, aged 101, in 2016.

Loving husband to Dorothy, father to 7 children who passed away 2 years ago from Parkinson’s he was in the suez conflict and always told us of the ship taking him there, he loved the sea and when ever we went to the sea side we would always visit the R.N.L.I boat stations where we would contribute money for a fantastic job that these men and women do on a daily basis to help others in trouble. We visited Ireland on many occasions so having his name on the boat is a fantastic tribute to his life
