David Meyrick Richards

In memory of my Dad who passed in 2018 aged 84. He so supported the RNLI and whenever he visited the coast he would always visit the local lifeboat station and buy a variety of gifts. He’s much missed and I hope to see the Legacy Lifeboat with his name on.

Eric Douglas Want

Eric spent most of his working life on the sea and was always very supportive of the RNLI. He was a good friend with a great sense of humour and is much missed.

Helen Katherine Hughes 1928 - 2020

Mum was a sea-scout in her youth. She married dad, a keen dinghy sailor, in the 1950s. They settled on the south coast, where our family spent a lot of time on and in the water. We've always been keen supporters of the RNLI and are proud to see mum's name included on this lifeboat.

Ian Francis Guild

Ian was an ex pat living in Holland working for air traffic control as supervisor. He developed a system in air traffic control which is still in use today, keeping planes safe, now he’s helped protect lifeboat crew. He was a very clever eccentric man able to speak numerous languages who I dearly miss. He would be so proud to know his name is with you on each shout

David Butler

In loving memory of our cousin David. He was a life long supporter of the RNLI and would have been honoured to know his name was on the legacy lifeboat. He was a lover of nature and the outdoors and spent many hours surfing. He was a kind and generous man and left other substantial charitable legacies. We are so proud to know his name will live on.

Irene Lesley Roper

Retiring down to Lyme Regis from London our Mum, never one to sit still, took up a number of voluntary roles. One was with the local guild for RNLI fundraising and eventually became the chairperson with responsibility for organising many fundraising activities including the very busy and succesful Lifeboat week. The duck race held on the river during the week is now named in her memory. Her final gift to the work of the RNLI was a bequest in her will. We are forever proud of her work.

Marion Edith Bessant

In memory of a dearly loved and devoted Wife, Mum & Grandma, Marion Edith Bessant. Deep in our hearts you will always stay - loved and remembered every day. She was a non-swimmer and scared of the water but always admired and supported the work of the RNLI. It is an honour to have her name on the new Legacy Lifeboat.

JANE LUCIA SCOTT 1930 - 2018

In memory of a much loved Mum, Grandma and Great Grandma, Jane Lucia Scott. Along with our late father Tom she was an avid supporter of the RNLI, spending time on the fund raising committee in Ilkley. She also become a recipient of the RNLI help when she had to be winched from a pleasure boat outing in the English Channell! She would have been so proud to think that her name was included on this new legacy life boat, as are all her family.

Philip John Green

This dedication is for my brother Philip John Green who sadly passed away July 2018. Phil joined the army aged 18 and over the years became a sergeant. He had lots of postings including Germany, Belfast and Portland Bill. When stationed in Portland Bill he had a boating trip and with others had to make a call to the RNLI to help rescue them. That rescue made him decide to leave money from his will to the charity.

Margaret Lilian Spir

Find memories of a wonderful Auntie who dedicated her life to helping others. She moved to Blackpool just before World War 2 with her parents and elder sister Sheila. Both never married and remained in the Fylde area. They ways supported the Local Lifeboat and would be humbled at having Margaret's name on the first legacy Lifeboat. Thank you

Glenda Mary Edwards 1956-2020

In memory of Glenda who would have been thrilled to know her name would be on the first Legacy Lifeboat.

Stuart Foulds

Dad loved nothing more than "messing about on boats" and was a life-long supporter of the RNLI. He reached the grand old age of 101 and I'm sure he would have been very pleased to learn that his name features on Shannon 13-44. I like to think of him sailing somewhere over the horizon with Mum.

Delphine Celia Rosemary Compton Groves

A kind and gentle mother, always there and on our side. We miss your beautiful smile, so full of love and trust. Every day we remember you and Dad, who loved the sea. We're proud of your generosity to the RNLI and that your name is on the Great Yarmouth legacy lifeboat.

Colin Bernard Paul White

In memory of a much loved member of our family, locally known as "Snowy". Being a true Cornishman & surrounded by the sea he was always a supporter of the RNLI in life and after death.

Michael John Wyard

In memory of a much loved, husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was a great supporter of the RNLI and he would be thrilled to know his name will live on in the Legacy Lifeboat as are all his family.

Gwyneth Edwards 1931-2019

Loved and missed by all her family, forever in our thoughts. Always game for a laugh and kept us amused leaving many happy memories. Supported the RNLI throughout her life and would be thrilled to have her name on this boat. Never went out of her depth when swimming but sure she will feel safe now with RNLI crew.

Anita Young 1941 - 2018

My dearest Ma loved being near water, whether fishing, swimming, rowing or sailing. Later in life her love of the Blackwater River and estuaries on the East Coast inspired her to paint. She supported the RNLI throughout her life and in her death. It is so fitting that she will continue to be at sea on this Legacy Lifeboat. She would have been so thrilled.

Aubrey Clifford Husk 28.5.1927 - 2.4.2019

Lived in Nottinghamshire all his life, married a Gorleston girl evacuated to the Midlands in WWII. Motor engineer and carer. A true gentleman who loved the outdoors and the seaside and demanded little for himself. Loving husband, father, grandad. God Bless you Dad and all the lifeboat crews who set out to sea.

Margaret and Rod Foxall

In loving memory of Marg and Rod Foxall. Reunited, sailing across the skies in their beloved "Maggie R" No.744 Marg always bought RLNI Christmas cards to help fund raise for an essential emergency service. She said, " As a sailor you hope and pray you never need the services of a lifeboat but if you did, you would want to know it had been launched and was on its way!" We want to say THANKYOU to all those who man the lifeboats, enabling us to enjoy the seas with the reassurance of you presence.

Barry Westbrook

Barry would be so proud to have his name on the new lifeboat, especially as we live just outside Norwich. He was an avid deep sea diver in his younger years, so could have need help from RNLI, but luckily he never did. I'm so proud of him and all he achieved in his life and to have shared my life with him is indeed a privilege. I miss him more than words can say. ❤💔

Graham Kelsey

A wonderfully funny and loving husband, brother, step-dad and super Grandad who we miss every day. He was a lifelong supporter of the RNLI and would be honoured to have his name displayed on the legacy lifeboat. We are so proud that he has played a small part in enabling the RNLI to continue their incredible lifesaving work.

I do hope somewhere he is watching because he was a keen sailor on the Norfolk Broads and to have his name on a Lifeboat in Norfolk is just so uncanny, he would be so proud and privileged. Miss you so much Dad x

Howard James Elcock: H/The Prof/The Captain

Howard was a lifelong sailor on river, lake and sea. He was also a stalwart supporter of the RNLI partly because he thought he might need them one day! He would have loved the idea of the Legacy Lifeboat and would be thrilled to be remembered in this way, as are his family and friends. He is still greatly missed: sail on Howard!

Elsie May Porter

My Beloved wife Elsie was a kind and thoughtful lady who liked to help others and for several years was a volunteer with Cancer Research. Elsie passed away in March 2018. I miss her so much, her loss has left a vacuum in my life which will never be replaced.

Mum always dragged me round the lifeboat station on holiday as a child. Now I’ll be doing the same with my daughter! 😂

Richard Kenneth Shead - 1953 to 2020

Much loved and sadly missed - husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Always in our hearts 💕💕💕. Richard was a very keen supporter of the RNLI throughout his adult life and we are all very proud that his name will be on the Legacy Lifeboat. We all hope to be at the eventual launch and we will carry on supporting such a good cause.

John and Freda Mobbs

My father was in the Royal Navy during the second world war and it was during this time that he gained his love of boats. Our holidays always included a visit to the local RNLI station and he always supported the RNLI until his death in 1986. My mother carried on the support in his memory until her death in 2019 and included a legacy for the RNLI in her will. It is an honour to have their names on the new Legacy Lifeboat.

William Roy Watkinso

Uncle Roy was a lovely man,liked laugh & joke and his loved his family. He was 92 when he passed was and is missed very much. He would be pleased to have his name on the lifeboat.

Jo Restorick

My dear wife Jo was a crew member on the Cunard liner Queen Elizabeth for 4 years in the early 1960s.She loved her time at sea and had a great regard for the RNLI and their great work. She had also been a stewardess with BEA - travel was in her blood.She was A wonderful woman and the love of my life.

Simon Richard Smallwood

Your whole family still remembers your support for the RNLI following the Samtampa loss in 1947 in which eight lifeboatmen perished. Your father Commander HD Smallwood was Coastguard inspector at the time.

Pauline Angela Young

Mum, widow of the late William (Bill) passed away on 19th January 2019 at the age of 90. At one time in her youth, she worked in an RNLI office (not sure which one) and therefore re-kindled her interest when Rachel became Chair of the fundraising guild at Appledore, North Devon. She supported Appledore LBS by making donations where appropriate. Her Will was updated to reflect this continued support. Mum was always a very generous person and left other substantial charitable legacies.

Walter Frederick Hesketh

Ivor Schraibman

My darling husband was always a keen supporter of the RNLI. We had a special connection with Lytham St Annes lifeboat station which I continue to visit when I can.

John and Cecilia Nicholson

Our parents had a lifelong affinity with the RNLI - our father was a merchant seaman, torpedoed in 1942 in the North Atlantic & rescued after 6 weeks at sea. Our mother joined the Wrens in 1941 aged 17. Often separated in their married life by the sea, they appreciated the dedication of the volunteer service. John died in 1992 after 45 years of marriage and Cecilia passed away in 2017. Their love of the sea and their respect for its power is a reminder to us to remember all those who serve.

Stuart and Margaret Gavin-Robinson

Mum just loved anything RNLI related whether it was the essential visit to an RNLI shop when on holiday, watching the tv shows or seeing them in action in Port Isaac!! It was a cause she always supported hence the legacy in both her and dads wills to support the ongoing work. They are both loved and missed every day but they would have been thrilled knowing their names will be added

Brenda Mary Burt

To my late, darling wife Brenda who sadly passed away on Xmas Eve 2019 at Derriford Hospital, Plymouth, after a long illness against which she fought so bravely. We were married for a wonderful 33 years and there is not one second of the day which passes without her in my thoughts and heart. I miss her so much, her passing left a huge gap in my life which I will never fill, all that I have left are the wonderful memories of the life we had together and the many photographs of her.
