The ocean and sailing played a very big part in Mark’s life. From early dinghy sailing he progressed to windsurfing, then yachts, representing Great Britain in the Commodore’s Cup, and paddle boarding. Always keen to go wave jumping he had a 20knot rule which dictated he left work if there was a blow to go windsurfing at Hill Head. Supporting the RNLI from dinghy days, it is fitting Mark will join the Exmouth Crew when out in a blow. Taken far too soon, you will never be forgotten.

Michael stayed with his grandparents (Mr and Mrs Edwards) in North Street, Exmouth at times during WWII, to be away from the blitz of Plymouth. Michael was a Police Officer in Plymouth City Police (PC 289) and the. In Devon and Cornwall Constabulary (PC 1389) when the forces amalgamated. He retired in 1986 and died in August 2018 aged 84.

Mike was Chaplain to both the RNLI team at Exmouth and the Missions to Seafarers during the 1980's and early 1990's. A dedication to Lowland Rescue Search Dog Jupiter who we sadly lost on 2nd August 2024 aged 14 years old. He qualified as a Search Dog in 2015 and served until his retirement in December 2022 attending over 100 searches. He was a truly remarkable Border Collie dedicated to his work and a truly great ambassador for the breed.
