I lost my dad very suddenly there was no warning, he just got up one morning and died.That was hard being the youngest daughter and the only one living away I didn’t get to see him as often as I would have liked.Then I lost my mum again very suddenly on my 30th wedding anniversary,and some years later I lost my older brother again very suddenly.I never got to say goodbye to them.We were brought up on the coast and I feel that now every time the boat is launched they will be remembered.

Our grandad Bobby Hammond sadly passed away in March 2020, he was a lover of the sea. In his younger days he was a fisherman and he spent many years as a sergeant in Hartlepool Sea Cadets. When my dad died at 58 we asked for donations to the RNLI, I visited several stations to hand in our donations including New Brighton and Lands End. To have my heros name etched into the hull of a boat that carries the unsung Hero's of the sea is an honour. Miss you Dad ❤️💛

Remembering John Clarke, Barna 02/07/1961 - 10/12/20002 A man who loved the sea and mountains, John always said he couldn't live anywhere he could not see the sea every day. He lived overlooking Galway Bay, died in the snow covered Alps and is buried overlooking the sea. A member of Galway Bay Sailing Club for many years. John was only 41 when he died leaving a wife and young family who loved the bones of him, people who admired and respected him. He is still missed in sailing circles

My dad, Sidney Cleverly, was born in Gravesend in 1908. He died in Brighton in 1968. He ran away from home in his teens to join the Royal Navy, and served for 8 years, much of which, he told us, was spent fighting pirates in the China seas. During WW2 he was a volunteer firefighter. His love of the sea never left him, and he would be so proud to be remembered on an RNLI lifeboat, combining sea and life-saving volunteering. Thank you, all.

Dad loved the West of Ireland and had a pure love of the sea. He was at his happiest and most relaxed sailing around Clew bay. Some of our fondest memories was to all go fishing and then land up on one of the 365 islands in the bay to cook up the feast of freshly caught fish. An absolute delight. It would be a lovely tribute to have our fathers name on the boat as this would provide a constant memory of his love for the West of Ireland and his love of the sea.

Neil sadly passed away on Christmas day 2020 at the age of 45. Neil lived in Cornwall and was a great supporter of the RNLI so this is a unique way to keep his memory alive.

This dedication is to Aunty Kitty, my father's sister. I never knew her as she died in 1932 but she remains in our thoughts and prayers. She left her parents' home in Mayo, to take up a teaching post in Perth in Scotland. On returning on holiday to her parents she was tragically drowned in the River Moy whilst swimming with her friends. She was 24 years old. She has not been forgotten down the generations, even by those of us who never knew her, and will always be remembered with sadness.

Our dad was a Radio Officer at sea on various vessels. On return to Ireland he became Superintendent of the lakes, Lough Mask, Lough Carra & Lough Corrib & in later years worked with Environmental Protection Agency (water section). He always had a love of water but also had so much respect for our waters. He was a boat man for World Cup angling competitions as he knew the lakes like the back of his hand! When I came across Launch A Memory, it Is the perfect was to honour his memory.

Mum was simply a lover of life and new experiences. She lived with disability from 16 following having Polio. This never stopped her doing anything once. She loved being at the seaside her whole life and supported our love of the water either swimming or sailing and would join in if able. RNLI is the ultimate volunteering organisation for the benefit of others. To travel with your crews is the best tribute to her, that love of life, kindness to others and try anything at least once.1934-2018

My father after a holiday on a boat made a decision to sell his shop and buy a 50ft schooner. Mad you say but he and mum set sail and lived on that boat for many years travelling from Gibraltar and the coast line of France. They came back through the canals of France and eventually ended up living in the middle of the river Dart. Adventurous and brave! Miss both my dad and my mum who loved the boat and the people they met

My dad was a Danish fisherman who came to England at the age of 20 during WW11 to escape Nazi occupation. Durring the war he fished out of Whitehaven were he met my mum. After the war he continued to fish from Whitehaven, then from Fleetwood until he retired at 60.

We wanted to add our dads name to Clifton lifeboat because he loved his holidays and visits to Ireland and to go fishing.He enjoyed his fishing trips out on the fishing boats, with his grandson’s and fishing friends.He was a good fisherman and won many trophies. Dad worked hard all his life, showed great fortitude in his grief for our mum. He moved a few years ago near the sea, and in this last year of being confined to his care home was so hard but he never complained, he will be greatly missed

Her 4 uncles were all mariners and lifeboat men in Kent and her husband and two sons served in the Royal Navy.Her one wish if she should win the lottery was to buy a lifeboat and name it.
