This dedication is to Aunty Kitty, my father's sister. I never knew her as she died in 1932 but she remains in our thoughts and prayers. She left her parents' home in Mayo, to take up a teaching post in Perth in Scotland. On returning on holiday to her parents she was tragically drowned in the River Moy whilst swimming with her friends. She was 24 years old. She has not been forgotten down the generations, even by those of us who never knew her, and will always be remembered with sadness.
