Neil died very suddenly three years ago and is sadly missed by us all. He would have been delighted to know his memory has helped to launch a lifeboat in Invergordon as he was in the Royal and Merchant Navy. He was born in Elgin, Scotland and as a child was in Invergordon Hospital.

Kenneth Brown

Dad was always a strong supporter of RNLI. As a Chief Engineer in the Merchant Navy he sailed around the world. The RNLI scattered his ashes in his home town of Walton on the Naze. The family holidays in the 70s were in Mousehole, Cornwall, we were all personally upset when the Penlee disaster occurred. He will be happy to be sailing again on the side of the Invergordon life boat. Thank you to RNLI for organising this !

A loving memory launched for my big brother, Jason Muller, (22nd May 1975 - 5th March 2019), who always loved the sea and was happiest when on his boat sailing and fishing around the west coast of Scotland. He loved to share the experience with family and friends. He had a great respect for the work of the RNLI and supported them during his lifetime. Jason, thank you for the fun and the magical memories you left us with. "You will rest, but you will stand up for your lot at the end of the days"

Shona Haughton

To the memory of my wonderful wife Shona who was inspired to support the RNLI by her uncle Peter who was involved with the lifeboat in Portrush. Shona suffered from multiple sclerosis, a broken neck and a diagnosis of terminal cancer which left her confined to bed for the last five years of her life. Shona bore her many ailments with dignity, fortitude, a strong faith and a fantastic sense of humour. I miss her terribly, she was my life.

Adelaide Green

Our wonderful nan Adelaide or should we say Addie as she was known. Lived life to the full right up to the day before she passed away at 97. She loved the sea all her life coming from a naval family from Portsmouth and Plymouth, our ancestors were part of the Plymouth brethren who cared so much for the well-being of sea faring families. Addie always wanted her ashes to go into the sea but other parts of the family had other ideas....so nan this is our tribute for you. X

James Cairns and the Lisle Family

Our late Father came from Cullercoats. His Family were all volunteers spanning many years with the Lifeboats. In 1848 our direct ancestors , members of the Lisle Famiky, were tragically drowned off Cullercoats Harbour. They are buried in Tynemouth Priory. It was after the tragedy that the Duke if Northumberland instigated the lifeboat at Cullercoats. Our dedication is to our Father and the Lisle family.

George Benson

I decided to do this to support the RNLI and also to remember my Dad. He was in the sea cadets and then the merchant navy when he was young and would most likely have persued a further career in the navy or sea faring if he had not started a family so soon. I thought it was something fitting that he would like and appreciate.

When we moved to Fleetwood in the late 1980s David as he was known and myself joined the Fundraising group for the Lifeboats, David eventually became Treasurer. He stayed in that office until we had to move because his job moved, but we always stayed connected with the Fleetwood Lifeboat until he died in 1999. He was well liked and respected and his family and friends all loved him very much and we still miss him. I still donate as much as I can in support of the wonderful selfless work they do.

My Dad

Dad loved the sea, worked for years on the quay, bringing herring from Dunmore to Milford Haven. He did all kinds of fishing down through the years, and was a great man to fix engines. He was a great supporter of the RNLI, and on more than one occasion, even though he wasn’t on the crew, went out with Honda Pumps, to help prevent boats from sinking. Dad, we hope you’re still looking after all that sail the seas xxx

Dad loved the sea. He was a keen sailor and also a dedicated amateur radio operator (N6SL). Dad was fortunate to combine these passions and worked as a radio officer on both military and commercial ships. I’m sure Dad would be proud to support the RNLI ❤️

My husband Ian wanted to go to sea and couldn't. He was a keen supporter of the RNLI and I felt that this is would be a good way of being remembered. He died aged 66 in July 2017 and is sadly missed.

In memory of our father, Bob Minney, survived torpedo attack on aircraft carrier HMS Thane, 15 Jan 1945, by U 1172 in the North Atlantic. Dad always encouraged us to be very safety aware, in the water as well as on shore.

George W Francis

Our Great Granddad George was rescued off Sennan Cove, Cornwall, during WWII, when his merchant navy vessel was sunk. Both he and our Nanna Vee had worked tirelessly raising money for the RNLI until they passed in 2004 & 2010 respectively. Our family will always be grateful and acknowledge and continue to help the awesome work the RNLI do.

Arthur Henry Koser

In honour of Arthur Henry Koser (1913-1996) who joined the Royal Navy, HMS Ganges, Shotley in 1928 aged 14. He served for 25 years before his discharge as a Chief Yeoman of Signals in 1953 and was mentioned in Dispatches in 1945. His love of the sea remained with him always.

Derek S Thurlow

This is in loving memory of my dear dad and much missed husband of Jean Thurlow. The photo was taken in Dec 1951 when dad was 23 and in the merchant navy. Dad would be so proud to have his name on a lifeboat. He was a life-long supporter of the RNLI - "for those in peril on the sea".

Capt.Frederick Charles Lucas MBE

Captain Fred Lucas (born in Catel, Guernsey in 1893 and died in St Peter Port in 1971) led a distinguished career in the merchant navy. He was a Captain with Coastlines Shipping, skippering the Guernsey Coast. He won his MBE in the Dunkirk evacuation in 1940 when under enemy fire he repeatedly evacuated British soldiers. He was a devoted father to Marie and Nancy and grandfather to Martin, Adam, John and Mark. His name is remembered on the decal of the Invergordon lifeboat. We live in his awe.

James ‘Jim’ Stibbs

My dad was always in love with the sea from a young boy reading treasure island living in Brighton right up to the day he died in Eastbourne. Even when his mobility was compromised by illness he found a way to sit by the sea. He was in the merchant navy during the WW2 and always wished his ashes to be scattered at sea. The Eastbourne RNLI helped us do that for him. He passed his love of the sea to myself and his granddaughters and we feel his presence strongly by the sea. We all support the RNLI

In loving memory Dad, Grandad & Great-grandad who was a Chief Petty Officer RN during WW11. He was serving on HMS Pylades & was torpedoed off the Normandy coast on 8th July 1944. He was in the sea over 2 hours but kept another seaman who couldn't swim afloat until rescued by another Minesweeper. He supported RNLI until he passed away aged 95. He would be so proud to have his name on the lifeboat.

A wonderful Dad who never achieved his ambition to join the Navy but always loved the sea. As a young man he climbed down to the beach to help a family who were cut off by the tide when their Dad suffered a heart attack. A donation was made for Henry Apps who was a shrimper and fisherman, who served on the Cyril & Lilian Bishop lifeboat in Hastings during WW1. A strong man who couldn’t swim. His family motto often quoted to us growing up, “defeat is only for those who accept it”. Missed by those who remember him. Thank you for his name being placed on the Shannon lifeboat in Scotland. He’d be so proud.

SAM - John Samuells 1934-2019

Sam served in the Air Sea Rescue (RAF) based at Pembroke, Tenby and Newhaven in the 50s and always loved boats and the sea. After being 'escorted in' by the Weymouth lifeboat when his engine was faltering in the Portland Race he became a Governor Member of the RNLI and keen supporter for the rest of his life. Sam would be honoured to know that his memory lives on and he is still helping to save lives.

In memory of our dear Aunt, Mary, who told us about our Ancestors who were Coxswains. Ben Herrington and other family members saved many lives rowing out with oars in treacherous seas. They were all decorated for their bravery. Mary was so very proud of them, as we are. I miss her every day. She was much loved. She lived to 101 and we sang Eternal Father Strong to Save at her funeral. Xx
