Vic (Dad) started his adult life in the army, serving in numerous conflicts around the world & seeing atrocities that stayed with him for life. After leaving the army, he was with the Merchant Navy and then became a school teacher. Over the years he saved numerous lives, either while in the army, Mountain Rescue in Wales, as a kayaking instructor or as a teacher. He became known as someone that could deal with “tough pupils” and managed to turn their lives around to a better direction.
