Mel, an amazing woman, wife, mother, sister and a friend to many. She lit up the room with her smile and made everyone feel special. She stood up for the right and helped others to be braver and bolder. She touched many lives and made them better for knowing her, both in her nursing career and in her personal life. Described by friends as ‘a force of nature’, it is a fitting tribute for her to be remembered on a lifeboat at Whitby, a place she loved . Mel is loved and missed so much by many.
