Displaced twice by bombing in WWII, transported (for £10) to Australia, Ben defied the odds and exceeded his own expectations as a successful industrial engineer, judo black-belt and footballer. Father to Edward, step-father to Shaun, Justin and Dominic he was a loyal friend, world traveller and raconteur, who enjoyed reading and, in his 80s, an author.
