Derek was the best husband, loved by his family and his good friends. He had many hobbies and interests, and was a great supporter of the RNLI.
Anytime we went somewhere that had an RNLI lifeboat station we'd pop in the shop to get a badge for his Tilly walking hat.
His ambition was to visit them all, we didn't manage that sadly. His hat was proudly worn on all his walks with the 30+ we visited.
Derek was a very kind and generous man, especially with his time and knowledge helping others.
