In memory of the founders of Threshfield lifeboat Ian R. B Patrick(1937-2018) and Dr A. J. Jackson(1949- 2021). The Threshfield lifeboat raised £10,000 towards an RNLI landing Pontoon at Whitby. It began in 1996 as an April fool's day prank that was featured in the local paper and became a genuine fundraiser over the years for the RNLI. Threshfield is many miles from the sea. Two local characters who went beyond the Call of Duty. Their lifeboat motto being "Distress, we have a flair for it" !
