Cliff Willard
Cliff was born in Walthamstow in 1932. He became a trombonist in the Scots Guards band aged 18 and played at the proclamation of Queen Elizabeth II and the funeral of King George IV in 1952. When Mum and Dad retired back to Ramsgate, Mum joined the RNLI, quickly becoming a committee member then secretary of the Ramsgate branch for many years. As Mum had always been at Dad’s side, so Dad was at Mum’s side at fundraising events and collections and playing the trombone to raise money for the RNLI.
