Lt. Colonel George Henry Hobkinson
I never met grandpa because he died when my father was a young man. Dad dearly loved him and now they will be reunited & appear together on Whitby Lifeboat, in a place they loved, a short distance up the coast from Scarborough, where granny had ashes scattered.
Grandpa served in Burma with the Royal Engineers during WW2 and before that he worked as chief architect, responsible for the many new RAF airfields that were required in Lincolnshire in the lead up to the Battle of Britain & beyond. xx
