My father started visiting the area in 1929 and continued annual family visits until 1939 for obvious reasons. He and his family usually stayed in Runs'ick Bay. After the war he married and continued visiting Runs'ick and surrounding area. He made many friends was passionate about the RNLI and also the fishing industry in Whitby. My mother later became President if the Morley Ladies Lifeboat Guild and was awarded the Silver Medal for her fundraising.
