Mum was born in Ramsgate and was always a supporter of the RNLI. When Mum and Dad retired back to Ramsgate, Mum joined the RNLI, quickly becoming a committee member and serving as secretary of the Ramsgate branch for many years. As Mum had always been at Dad’s side, so Dad was at Mum’s, always by her side at fundraising events and collections and playing the trombone with the swing band at concerts and dinner-dances to raise money for the RNLI.
