Elsie Miller
Elsie devoted her whole life to the RNLI. She was born 16th February 1936 and had family links with Ramsgate lifeboat since 1851. When the Ramsgate ladies' lifeboat guild was formed in September 1954, her mother Rene, one of the founding members and wife of the Coxswain Douglas Kirkaldie, enrolled her. Elsie took on the role of hon. sec. in 1962 and continued until 1971 when full time work made it difficult. She continued to help and support whenever possible being awarded Silver & Gold badges.
