My Great Grandad lost his life in the Merchant Navy aboard the SS City of Bedford on 30th December 1940. I have spent many years researching this brave man and am honoured to recently gain his war medals. This is a wonderful way of paying tribute with the RNLI and will be looking forward to the Shannon’s launch in 2023.
