Dad was a sailor. He learned dinghy sailing from his Uncle and built a boat as a boy. In 1963 he and Mum bought a Sailing Barge (Ethel Maud) as she unloaded her cargo and converted her to a home. They lived and sailed in her from Blackwater Maldon where Jo was born. As a family we sailed dinghies on lakes like Bala or sometimes the Gower. And we took holiday on The Broads. Dad worked for NERC and took many trips on their research ships including to Antarctica. He passed away 25 July 2022.
