I asked Dawn to marry me overlooking Whitby harbour in September 1990. After 24 years of happy marriage, we learned Dawn had incurable cancer. Whitby is a special place for us and we had and still have lots of happy memories there. We wanted to remember Dawn in a special way. I didn’t want to leave Dawn alone in Whitby, so I have made a donation for my name to be side by side with Dawn. I’m hope our two daughters Sophie and Katie will smile whenever they see Whitby lifeboat in years to come.
