Charlie Cocks
My father was Charlie Cocks, a volunteer with Redcar RNLI for 54 years.
He joined as a crew member in 1948 and was the last volunteer to hold the post of signalman at Redcar. On leaving the crew he became a launching authority and finally he was the lifeboat station's admin. officer.
He would be chuffed to bits to know he (or at least his name) was about to go to sea on a lifeboat stationed so close to home!
