Harold Acum

Harold came from a seafaring family and went to sea on trawlers on the east coast from a young age. He became a skipper in 1929 aged 25. During the second World War he served in the Norwegian Campaign and on minesweeping trawlers. In 1944 he was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross which was presented by King George VI at Buckingham Palace. He was a much loved husband, father, and grandfather, who enjoyed singing and playing the piano. He is remembered with love.
