A Dear Dad and Grandad. A Sussex man he was in the sea cadets before doing his apprenticeship in coach building at Lancing Railway-works. He then did his national service in R.E.M.E. Here he completed his joinery apprenticeship and continued his career building railway carriages and Southdown buses. He was a gentle man. He would be delighted to have his name on the Whitby lifeboat with his father Harry and brothers Wally and Peter Kersey.
