John Grainger was my best friend's brother, and had he not drowned at sea, would have been a life-saver himself, as he was studying to be a doctor. He would have been an incredible doctor and know this because, although I never met him, his sister is an incredible teacher, and she means the world to me.
Her favourite charity is the RNLI, for obvious reasons, and so for her 50th birthday, my wee family did the launch-a-memory in the name of her dear brother.
Go save lives, and make John proud!
