Royal Navy Leading Signalman. He was the son of a Coastguard Richard and Mary Wilson, of 15, Gratwicke Terrace, South Marsh, Arundel, Sussex. All 4 sons joined the Royal Navy but only Victor was killed in action. My father was given the middle name of Victor. Victor served on HMS Fortune, an 'Acasta Class' destroyer in the 4th Division of the 4th Destroyer Flotilla at the Battle of Jutland. She was under the command of Frank Goodrich Terry.
