My Dad loved boats and fitted out 2 for the Canal and later for the Shannon for 7 children. My Mother used to be terrified for us jumping down from deep locks and managing the ropes and locks at a young age but we loved it. Venture Too our boat was his pride and joy and flew the RNLI flag proudly. Safety on the waterways was priority and as a family we won a number of boat rallies for boat handling and rescues. We had opportunities to help other boats and swimmers in distress over the years.
