All her life, my nan was a proud supporter of the RNLI, running charity events and receiving rewards for her service. Having been in the navy as a wren during the second world war, and married to my granddad who served on a minesweeper during and after the war, the sea was always special and important to her, and protecting those who lived and worked on the ocean was dear to her heart. She passed three years ago, and when I saw this campaign I knew that she would have loved and appreciated it
