James Conroy, my great great grandfather, spent almost all of his life at sea. Shipwrecked, jumping ship, missing in 'the colonies' for 2 years, he did it all, and, it seems agreed with Sir Francis Drake, who said "It is not that life ashore is distasteful to me, but life at sea is better"
