Known as ‘Uncle’ Robert to so many of us – his ‘children’. Born 10/05/1924, died 29/11/2018. Married to Mary Margaret Calder (Auntie Mamie) on 08/08/1951 and forever devoted to her. Travelled to Trincomalee (Sri Lanka) with the RAF. Worked in the Royal Dockyards in Rosyth, Pembroke and Chatham. Elder of the Church of Scotland. Hobbies included supporting Gillingham and Dunfermline football clubs, reading, going to the theatre in Edinburgh and golf. Lifelong supporter of the RNLI.
