In memory of my grandfather, a man I never met but feel I know through my mother's stories and memories of him. He was a seaman all his life, but he was lost in the Irish Sea in November 1940, due to enemy action. His loss is the reason the RNLI saving lives at sea, means so much to me. No one could have saved him, but others can be saved. I know how much that means to so many people.
