Mum and Dad retired to Poole in the early 1990s and immediately became supporters of the RNLI, and watched as the new HQ and training centre was built on Holes Bay. But our family's respect for the RNLI goes much further back to when we used to live at Wells-next-the-Sea and would walk the run to watch the lifeboat being towed and launched by tractor after we'd heard the siren go off. Still makes a chill run down my spine remembering the brave crews launching in winter gales.
