June Wood
June Wood was a supporter of the RNLI for many of her 83 years, despite living in Welwyn Garden City, miles from the sea. Her interest was sparked by visits to Filey in the 1950s and 60s. In recognition of her valued support, the RNLI invited her to the Southend on Sea Lifeboat Station. Accompanied by her daughter Diane, son-in-law Steve, and grandchildren Rebecca and Joshua, she enjoyed a memorable trip to watch the spectacular sea rescue demonstrations and have ice creams on the pier.
