Robert Douglas Methven
This dedication is to my father Douglas Methven, a wonderful father who survived WWII as a pilot guarding North Sea convoys in atrocious conditions. He was a wonderful caring father to myself and my brother; giving us great childhood experiences, including many in boats and swimming in storms which he enjoyed as an excellent swimmer. Born and brought up in St Andrews he loved the sea and was a lifeguard at the seawater open air pool in 30/40s.
Lost too young at 55, we love and miss him still.
