Our brother Hugh took a job on the fishing boats in Oban after serving his apprenticeship in Barr & Stroud. He hated working in a factory and loved the fishing life. Sadly he passed away in a fire on board the fishing vessel Aliped VIII, in Oban Harbour when he was just 28 years old in 1983. We all still miss and love Hugh very much. He would have laughed at having his name on a lifeboat.
