Captain Ronald Leask
Ronnie Leask had a lifetime of adventures at sea in a career in the merchant navy, including many years as captain of the Gardyloo in the Firth of Forth. He knew only too well how perilous the sea can be- in 1954 as a young apprentice on MV Fernmoor, his ship sank after hitting a reef in the South China Sea. Luckily the crew were rescued eventually from badly leaking lifeboats. He always supported the RNLI & would be pleased to know we’re helping fund the new Anstruther lifeboat in his memory.
