Jack Clucas
My lovely dad was a sailor in WWII. He loved the sea: I remember him taking me on a speedboat trip in Devon where my mum was petrified! He was a real character, always teasing people.
During school term it was Dad who I spent lunchtimes with. He’d cook bacon and eggs (or similar) and we listened to Desert Island discs before he rode his bike back to work with me on the crossbar.
I followed Dads lead and joined the navy and use his motto ‘Life’s not a dress rehearsal’ to live life to the full.
