Captain Gwilym Owen
Dad left school in 1944 and spent his whole working life at sea, in the Merchant Navy. He worked for the Blue Funnel line for over forty years and became a Captain in the late 1960s. His ships sailed all over the world and he was responsible for rescuing crew members from stricken vessels on occasion, as well as patching up fellow crew members after severe storms.
I’m so proud that his name will continue to set sail aboard the wonderful RNLI13-47 and its brave and dedicated Anstruther
crew.
