As a family we where lucky enough to spend a lot of our childhood on our speed boat in Anglesey, North Wales. Fortunately we never needed to call for the lifeboat but we did watch many people being rescued over the years we spent there. Whenever I visit Anglesey I always make a trip to Moelfre to see the life boat station.

My nan grew up in Abersoch and basically brought me up there too so we know the importance of the RNLI. She always supported them so thought this would be very fitting. Unfortunately I lost my nan a few weeks ago, she was such a lovely lady

We have done Launch a Memory for our Dad Tony Clyne who we lost so unexpectedly 24-07-23. He had tremendous love for the Sea having been in the Merchant Navy and was an avid supporter of RNLI. His funeral was all Sea related & the poem Sea Fever by John Masefield was read which sums up dads wishes. When we find the strength, his ashes are to go to Sea, therefore his name on the lifeboat could not be more perfect. The Sea is where he wants to be. We miss you beyond words Dad. We recently lost our generous open-hearted and beloved friend to a rare and incurable cancer. It was her wish that any donations made in her name should be to causes that were dear to the donors' hearts. We were happy to choose RNLI, especially as Tricia and her husband Ray used to enjoy sailing. My Grandad was always a huge supporter of the RNLI. He taught me the fantastic work they do and make me into a life long supporter. He always wished to be able to buy a lifeboat and name it after his wife, my Grandma. He never got the opertunity but I carried forward the same wish, and this is the closest I've gotten so far. So both of them will go to sea on a lifeboat and help to save lives.

William (Bill) Archer

Bill loved the sea and was a lifelong supporter of the RNLI. He sadly died on the 24th July this year. He would be honoured to know his name is on a lifeboat somewhere at sea.

George H Hatfield (RN)

My uncle George, whom I have never met because I was born much later, served in the Royal Navy on the small ship Stella Copella during the dreadful Arctic Convoys of the Second World War. Sadly his ship was lost at sea with all hands in March 1942 (possibly torpedoed by the infamous Bismarck) just a few days before his 22nd birthday. My aunts used to say that I reminded them of him, I hope in good way. I can't imagine that fateful day when those poor men all perished in that freezing cold water.

Jack Livesey, 15.05.1954-07.12.2019. Jack, you were my man in a billion billion. You shared my obsessive love of history and we learnt so much from each other. Your skills as a chef were legendary in the family and oh how I miss your cooking! You loved our garden, our home, our neighbourhood and our endlessly-growing library of history books. You had your faults but you loved me and you were half my heart. It is not and will never be the same without you. All my love as always, Bridget xxx

You lost your fight with dementia in April, and now you’re finally free to do what you want, pain free. You loved the sea and we moved to Kinmel bay to be close to it. We walked to the RNLI boat house today and was kindly given a tour and told about this wonderful thing of “launch a memory”and it seemed so fitting. Thank you for all the you do.

In loving memory of John Walter Gorton who passed away aged 78 in 2022. He was very proud to have served in the London Fire Brigade for 30 years and we were incredibly proud of him too. When retiring to Norfolk, he was very active on the Poppy Line North Norfolk railway. He loved living by the sea and was always amazed by its power. He is sorely missed by his family and many friends.

My husband Steve was a life long supporter of the RNLI. We visited lifeboat stations wherever we went. He sadly passed away in March 2023 after a long brave battle with kidney failure, diabetes, strokes,dementia & gangrene.I miss him so very much but I am comforted knowing he is now out of pain & at rest. My beautiful Mum lost her fight in Feb, she had suffered for a long time with COPD, she was always willing to help where ever she could. Years ago she worked for the Coastguard and taught me and my brother the phonetic alphabet which I still use to this day. She loved the seaside and we spread her ashes in the sea at her favourite place in Wales. She is free to go wherever the waves take her, she would have loved to know that she has her name on a lifeboat.

Adrian Mark Price

Adrian loved life and the sea. He had his first boat at the age of 14 but had been on his parents boats all his life. He had a great respect for the sea and wanted to support the RNLI as he knew what an incredible job they do. Sadly he was taken way too young at just 40 due to cancer. He fought the disease with all he had and still managed to enjoy weekends on his beloved boat with his wife and young family while undergoing treatment. He would have been pleased to be remembered on the lifeboat.

Brandon was a young man who was full of life, he loved motorcycles , the gym and spending his time living life to the full. Brandon was taken from us in July 2021 in a road accident. Sandra sadly passed away in July this year from a very quick fight with cancer. She always stopped by the RNLI stations to say hello, so donations from friends and family was gifted to the RNLI in St Ives, her favourite place to holiday, and to Launch a Memory.
