I could not think of a better tribute to my dad than to have is name on the lifeboat . My dad joined the merchant navy straight out of school and had the best time travelling the world . When he came home he bought himself a little boat called the Girl Sandra and went out from his home in St andrews to lobster fish . He talked often about the time he got into difficulty and had to be rescued by the Anstruther lifeboat . The sea was in his blood .
