Ray was a Merchant Navy seaman for 47 years, retiring in 2013. He sailed all over the world in that time. The RNLI was his preferred charity and we would often visit RNLI stations when we travelled around the UK and donated frequently.
Sadly Ray died in 2019 and is greatly missed by his family. We met in 1968 and married in 1972 and would have been married 50 years in July and I hope to visit the boat then. Having his name on a lifeboat is a very fitting tribute to a lifelong seafarer.
