Dad had no contact with sailing, as far as we are aware, other than taking us on the row-boats in our local park. However, whenever we went on holiday he would always visit the Lifeboat Station and leave a donation. He said that Lifeboatmen were, to him, true heros.
When he died some 35 years ago we continued his monthly contributions to the RNLI in his memory.
As always, Dad was correct because RNLI volunteers are real heros.
