This beautiful lady is my Nan. At 96, she lived a long and fruitful life. And just as in Thomas Moore’s poem, she became The Last Rose of Summer. She outlived many of the family members and friends of her generation. And she was the most beautiful, kindest and most loving person you could ever meet - both inside and out. Having both her and my Grandad's name on the Shannon class lifeboat is a perfect tribute to two people who would do anything for others.
