Jack (John) Brown
Thank you . Although I never knew you. To my Great great grandfather and crew member at Scarborough. This was in the Leeds Mercury in 1930. The text says Mr. John Brown. surviving member of the crew of the lifeboat that went to the rescue of the Black Eyed Susan, when she foundered off Scarborough Spa in 1880. This fine old seaman, who looks after the Scarborough lifeboat and still helps to man her when occasion arises, claims to be the oldest lifeboatman in the country. *
