William Dingwall.
His nephew Robert Hudson.
William was my uncle, whom I never met. On his 21st birthday, on the 1st January 1915 he was drowned off Lyme Regis when the troop carrier he was on was torpedoed. Over 400 men were killed that night. I am saddened that I never met him, that so much promise was lost, a life unlived, and so many families suffered heartache and loss.
I have been lucky enough to have been able to lay a wreath over the wreck.
May you all rest in peace. Love and eternal gratitude , your nephew, Robert. xxx
