My mum Shirley started volunteering in the RNLI shop at Hastings in the late 1980s and volunteered for the RNLI for over forty years. Mum received a Bronze medal for volunteering in 2004, and Silver medal in 2014 Her volunteer work with the RNLI inspired me to join the lifeboat crew and I have been a crewmember at Hastings since 1995. Mum sadly passed away in 2022 but I will always remember how she inspired my RNLI career. I miss her very much
