Joy (Mum) was a lifelong supporter of the RNLI, so when we lost her last year, aged 94, all donations from her funeral, on her instructions, went to the RNLI. She wanted her ashes scattered off Southend pier, where she grew up, but she also loved Scotland, where she and Dad regularly holidayed, and indeed went on honeymoon in 1949, so she would've loved to have her name on a lifeboat, helping "Those in peril on the sea".
