Billy McAtee
Dad had been thrown into a canal as a child and he had a fear of water after that. Despite this he taught myself and my sister to swim and also helped teach my daughter, his granddaughter. As a mature adult he took swimming lessons in secret. In his later life he suffered a stroke and on our daily visits we would often watch Saving Lives at Sea and although he couldn’t speak, his appreciation of all you do was evident as he still had a great respect of keeping safe near water.
